“DANCE WITH THE DEMON” Horror Anthology. Project 26 via J. Ellington Ashton Press

What is better than a great horror author? 17 amazing terror authors working together to create this piece.

PROJECT 26: ROUND 2 An amazing horror anthology for starters.

P26 – Project 26 26 books, each one representing a different letter in the alphabet, with each letter in turn representing a horror-related concept that starts with that letter. Over a year in the making, the creative range and scope of this project are both awe inspiring and terrifying. We challenge you to collect them all.

“Demons – we all have them. Like a parasitic shadow, attaching itself and penetrating its foul claws deep into your soul, your own personal demon feeds on your fears.

Fear – the basest of all human emotions; the one from which all our others gain impetus and purpose – even of love.

Throughout history, the Demon has been projected outwards, given form, given a cornucopia of names and even hierarchies. Truth be told, they are a deeply ingrained expression of our own psyches. Manifesting in a myriad of ways: addictions – physical, mental and spiritual; hatred and prejudice, ignorance and subservience – the Demon lives within us all, and choreographs the dance of life towards death.

As you immerse yourself in the demonic tales within these pages, the question may arise…

How much of yourself have you given away, as you Dance with the Demon”

Essel Pratt, inspired by C.S. Lewis, Clive Barker, Stephen King, Harper Lee, William Golding, and many more, doesn’t restrain his writings to straight horror. His first Novel, Final Reverie is more Fantasy/Adventure, but does include elements of Horror. His first zombie book, The ABC’s of Zombie Friendship, attacks the zombie genre from an alternate perspective. Future books, that are in progress and yet to be imagined, will explore the blurred boundaries of horror within its competing genres, mixing the elements into a literary stew.

Kitty Kane aka Becky Brown hails from the south of England where she lives surrounded by squirrels. She is also one half of writing duo Matthew Wolf Kane, and has been published both in collaborations and standalone stories. Kitty is the author of stories that have appeared in Full Moon Slaughter and Down The Rabbit Hole: Tales Of insanity from J Ellington Ashton Press, and has several more stories in forthcoming releases from JEA. She has also has her work in a Christmas anthology from BURDIZZO BOOKS which was called Twelve Days in which Kitty cheerfully roasted babies in front of the open fire. Kitty is currently editing her first solo anthology, The ABC of Murder coming soon from Anthology House. She has lots of exciting projects lined up this year including her own novella, a MWK collaboration novella, many short stories and lots of general madness. Kitty says of her writing style that it errs on the side of bizarro, but she enjoys writing classic horror also. A lifelong fan of all things horror, you will find her generally up to no good. Her eyes are brown, her hair is subject to change…one steadfast thing with her though, she can never be accused of being sane.

Andy Peloquin – I am, first and foremost, a storyteller and an artist–words are my palette. Fantasy is my genre of choice, and I love to explore the darker side of human nature through the filter of fantasy heroes, villains, and everything in between. I’m also a freelance writer, a book lover, and a guy who just loves to meet new people and spend hours talking about my fascination for the worlds I encounter in the pages of fantasy novels.

Fantasy provides us with an escape, a way to forget about our mundane problems and step into worlds where anything is possible. It transcends age, gender, religion, race, or lifestyle–it is our way of believing what cannot be, delving into the unknowable, and discovering hidden truths about ourselves and our world in a brand new way. Fiction at its very best!
